Patterson honored its four seniors before Wednesday’s game against City, and they carried the Clippers to a 67-58 win to close out the Baltimore City league schedule.
Patterson (17-4) finishes tied for first place with Lake Clifton at 10-2 in Baltimore City Division I. The two teams will meet for the City Championship on Saturday at Morgan State at 8:30 p.m.
Patterson trailed by eight points in the first half before going on a 13-0 run and went into halftime leading 33-29. A 13-2 run to start the second half secured the victory for the Clippers, who swept the season series with City.
Senior Gary Blackston finished with a career-high 27 points, making six 3-pointers and finishing 10 fo 16 from the floor. He also added 11 rebounds and three assists for his ninth double-double this season. Senior Dereck Oliver played the role of distributor, dishing out 10 assists and adding six points. Seniors Tyquan Pointer (three points) and Demetrich Williams (four points, six rebounds) also contributed in their last regular season home game.
Not to be outdone by the seniors, a pair of sophomores helped control the paint. Koran Moore tallied 12 points, 11 rebounds and seven blocks while Christion Adams had six points and eight rebounds.
Richard Hibbert (six points, two rebounds, two assists) and Earl Ross (three points) rounded out the scoring for Patterson, which out-rebounded City 44-29.
The JV team defeated City 50-35. Trey Robinson finished with a career-high 27 points.
The Clippers close out the regular season on Thursday at Carver. JV tips at 3:45 p.m. and varsity at 5:15 p.m.
